Should I do a tuscany kitchen with my black appliances?
Question by Jordyce’s Mommy: Should I do a tuscany kitchen with my black appliances?
I am having a house built with black countertops, black or stainless steel appliances and cherry wood cabinets. I want to do a yellow tuscany kitchen. Will that look good??

Black is the new neutral and is a very hot trend in kitchen design. Your idea of using yellow in a tuscan design is right off of the pages of the kitchen trend magazines sent to designers. You will also see it in Architectural Diegest and in model homes. Go with it!
I also have black granite countertops and black appliances. I have honey oak cabinets. i wasn’t going for a tuscany feel and we ended up doing Glidden “dapper tan”. I love it! It is so rich looking. I have had many compliments on it. I think the yellow would look great. Good luck – I had so much stress doing over my kitchen – I couldn’t decide on ANYTHING for the longest time! Got some good ideas on YA though…
Sorry, but NO! Tuscany design has warm, sunny feeling and you should not use black for neighter appliences or countertop. Please! Stainless steel goes with anything and makes a kitchen look more trendy. As far as countertop goes, Use Ceasarstone (2200 desert limestone), Travertine, or even stained concrete ( rust or brownish color) Also you might want to mach your floor (what is your flooring?) Do two toned orange-yellow faux paint for your walls. Home Depot will have an easy to follow instructional dvd for faux paint. Have fun with your project!
