  14. MarineMan1992 says:

@HeavyWeaponsGull i felt Master of Puppets did the same thing, but in reverse. Its all hard, raunchy and fast, talking about drugs, and the interlude is completely heavenly.

sounds to me like they were telling a “story” and the interlude was the initial high, then it went downhill from there. IMO.

  15. shshagfors says:

@Zuxtron The better question is, after you said this, who are the other 2 idiots who also disliked it

  16. wolfhorsky says:

    this is awesome :D

  19. chaveznieves says:

@HeavyWeaponsGull well john petrucci wrote these lyrics based on his childhood trip to tuscany where he met the actual count of tuscany. john, as a child, was apparently very scared of the count and thought he was going to kill him. thats where this all comes from

  20. HeavyWeaponsGull says:

Hearing it for the first time. After the heavenly intro I was completely sure that this song would be about Tuscany being the best place on Earth etc. And then I hear the chorus “I don’t wanna die, I wanna say good bye”. It was kinda unexpected… and for me it seems a bit unfitting with the beautiful vision the intro brings to my eyes.

    Still, it’s a MASTERPIECE!

  21. jaji666 says:

  22. Pesciolinoparatutto says:

  25. Emanusmell says:

i am no prog expert though i am a huge theater and rush fan….theater are not pioneers…rush has been blowing us away for over 40 years now but theater is for sure pushing the envelope and coming up with some mad scientist musical compositions…this one is no acception.

    blown away
